Komatsu's New Intelligent Construction Machines Launch Event Show: Dancing with their Souls
Being chosen to design the unveiling show for Komatsu's three new intelligent construction machines in 2022 was one of the most thrilling projects of my career. The core idea was to express the character of each machine and its features through a specific essence, and this concept came to life through the artistry of three different modern dance performers.
As a first step, we created characters for each machine: Power, Precision, and Speed. When selecting the dancers to embody these characters, their unique abilities and energy played a crucial role in reflecting the standout features of Komatsu's machines. The dance choreographies were meticulously designed to harmonize with the movements and functionality of the machines.
The other half of the show comprised an animation segment emphasizing Komatsu's core values and highlighting their future strategies. This section aimed to convey Komatsu's vision by underlining technological advancements and sustainability goals. The animation content was brought to life on stage using 3D mapping technology and sheer fabric, providing the audience with a visual spectacle.
The process of bringing this project to life spanned an intense time frame. In just 15 days, we successfully completed the choreography, theme music, show structure, and art direction for all animation content. The show, executed on a 30-meter stage, left a lasting impression with the synergy of the dancers' energy and the cohesion of the animations.
This project challenged not only my design skills but also teamwork and creativity. This show, where every detail was carefully planned, stands as one of the most significant projects in my career. The special launch show, where we made Komatsu's new construction machines dance with their souls, allowed us to increase our impact in the industry and provide an unforgettable experience. The process was both challenging and highly rewarding, solidifying my passion for similar projects in the future.
